HE WHO COMES TO EQUITY MUST "BAFF"

I believe we all are familiar with the famous saying "He who comes to equity must come with clean hands" . I had a conversation last year with some people
and a man humorously remarked that clean hands are no longer enough to come to the table of equity and justice but a full body wash or as he put it "bath',
we all laughed at the comment and continued with our drinks. Judging from the trend of events we have been witnessing in recent times I am beginning to appreciate
that comment from the gentleman, should this piece become a bestseller of some sort I might have to contact him and pass him some royalties.
It seems to me that the trend is first an individual occupies a public or political office in whatever capacity, get emeshed in corrupt practices and while you're at it he/she
shoulld ensure they're chummy with the government of the day. The moment that person attempts to speak against the powers that be, the "ghosts of corrupt practices past"
comes haunting using either the EFCC or Legislative arm of government as the "SWAT" team with the sole aim of apprehending or in most cases silencing such individuals
There are loads of instances of this scenario some of which includes the famous N10billion naira scandal against former speaker of the House of Reps Rt. Hon Dimeji Bankole,
the moment he became "loyal" the law suit was dropped and he is now as silent as a smartphone on mute (no pun intended).

Another epic example is the Mr Femi Fani Kayode who served as a minister during President Obasanjo's tenure amongst other duties, by happenstance and circumstance he became very vocal against the PDP-led government in Nigeria whilst in the ranks of the oppositon  party APC . He was even remarked on a TV programme that "If PDP rigs the elections in 2015, they will know that there are men in this country", Act 2 Scene1, we had the EFCC going hard on some of his financial dealings as minster of aviation and culture/tourism with a 40-count charge at a Federal High Court sitting in Lagos. Fast forward to the visit to the president, next up he leaves for the PDP  thereafter hitting the APC with his usual streams of jabs and like a hoodini trick the case is about to be dropped.
Most recent is the impeachment of Governor Murtala Nyako of Adamawa state over same financial misconduct, one begins to wonder why he never came out to defend and absolve himself of such grave accusations if they were never committed aside showing to the world he's a victim of political witch hunting. Remember Governor Lamido of Jigawa? the G7 New-PDP saga, His two sons being fingered by the EFCC and the silence that has followed afterwards. Lets not forget HRH Sanusi Lamido Sanusi who never attacked the charges directed at him head-on but gave us the decoy of how he turned around the fortunes of the CBN and now being witch hunted.

These and many more of these instances abound in our political biosphere and the explanation is simple, When the coast is clear everybody gets to do what they do and when the tides turn some become hunters and some are the haunted. Therefore all practicing, aspiring and future politicians be mindful of what you do when you're in the mix so that when the tides turn and you want to be a freedom fighter or a voice of your own, nobody will haunt and silence you with your past dealings such that you will prefer you were taken out by a mossad sniper than turning into a political vegetable. Hence, you need to be sure that not just your hands are clean but your entire body has been washed, creamed and perfumed before coming to the table of equity and justice. Therefore I say to you "HE WHO COMES TO EQUITY MUST BATH"

PS; To whom it may concern, please bear in mind that your case files can still be reopened and revisited at anytime particularly when the purpose for which it was done has been served .

GOD BLESS NIGERIA
