LEFTHANDERS RIGHTS!

Did you ever get scolded or beaten because you gave something to your elder with your left hand? Or even wrote with your left hand? Well, if you didn't experience it I did. Many people seemed to grow up with that feeling; that being left-handed is a curse., and I think our culture is to blame here.


Psychology and Medicine have various explanations for Left-handedness; gene transfer, rapid development of the right hemisphere of the brain, etc. But the summary of it all is, Left-handedness is a natural thing. It's not a disability; they are very much as human as right-handers.

There are so many prominent people that are left-handed; Abraham Lincoln, Oprah Winfrey, Leonardo da Vinci, just to name a few...and you'd agree with me that these people are very sane and stable. Research even has it that; since left handed people are connected to the artistic hemisphere of the brain, they are more creative, witty, imaginative...than right-handers. When you consider the fact that Leornado da Vinci was left handed, you'd totally agree with that research.

But that doesn't mean right handed people are not creative though! Lol... Of course we are! But the thing is 85% of the people on earth are right-handed, and the remaining 15% are left handed. So automatically because they are a minority, the world is designed for right handed people without really putting the left-handers into consideration.

Today is a day designed to shine the spot light on them, and appreciate them for tolerating our ignorance. I hope it doesn't end today though; let's make everyday a left-handers day. All right-handers should try doing things with their left hands today for a change, and see how it feels :) charle!
